Trained as a development economist, Eric Britton is a student, teacher, writer, sustainability activist, advisor and international mediator dealing with public policy and decision issues involving complex systems, social-technical change, equity, conflict and sustainable development. He refers to himself and his life work as a “public entrepreneur”.
He is managing director of EcoPlan International, an independent advisory network providing strategic counsel for government and industry in the areas of economic development, sustainable transport and sustainable cities.
He is a Founding Editor of Journal of World Transport Policy and Practice and World Streets: The Politics of Transport in Cities, and Distinguished Visiting Professor of Sustainable Development, Economy and Democracy at the Institut Supérieur de Gestion (Paris).
